Choose Edge if the feeling of being outside above the city matters as much as the view. The glass-floor moment is the headline, but the west-side perspective is the lasting reason to visit.
What is the Edge experience like?
Edge combines an indoor experience with the outdoor sky deck at Hudson Yards. The angled glass walls and glass floor create a different sensation from a traditional rooftop viewpoint. You can enjoy the skyline without choosing the glass-floor section.
The official experience now includes immersive indoor rooms as well as the outdoor deck. Check the current experience description when booking, especially if you last visited before the indoor additions. City Climb is a separate activity and is not included in the tickets linked here.
Is Edge better at sunset?
Sunset can make the Hudson River side especially rewarding, but a golden sky is never guaranteed. A bright, clear daytime slot can be a better choice than a hazy sunset, particularly if your priority is seeing distant landmarks.
Compare the full cost of a regular timed ticket with the Sunset VIP option on your date. A ticket with sunset in its name is not a promise of clear weather, unlimited terrace access or entry at any time. Read the entry window and included extras before paying.
How to fit Edge into your day
Pair Edge with Hudson Yards and a walk on the High Line. Leave enough time for security and the lift before a restaurant reservation or another timed attraction. Our suggested 90 minutes is a planning allowance, not a venue time limit.
If heights make you uncomfortable, begin inside and decide how much of the outdoor platform you want to explore. The experience is visually intense, even when you avoid standing on the glass.
Is Edge worth visiting?
An exposed terrace is less appealing in wind or poor visibility. Choose based on the experience your group wants, then compare the final price for the same date and visitor categories.
